A Great Introduction

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

"GCJGSF was the impetus to my choice in my current profession in youth athletics."

1995, George W. Gamble joined the Greater Cleveland Junior Golf Scholarship Fund (GCJGSF). During that time, he not only learned that game of golf, but he brought with him skills that benefited the program as well. When GCJGSF hosted the National Minority Junior Golf Championship, George and his dance team put on an unforgettable tap dance performance for the over 500 guests in attendance. In his six year of membership, George said,

"I learned a sport that made me into the man I am and introduced me to many adults that genuinely cared. GCJGSF was the impetus to my choice in my current profession in youth athletics."

After leaving the program in 2001, George went on to major in Sports Management and received his B.A. from Shawnee State University and MS in Athletic Administration from Ohio University. He is currently Director of Athletics for Columbus City Schools. In this position he supervises and coordinates education based athletic programs. Another significant accomplishment in George's life is he recently became a father of a beautiful baby girl named Penelope.

We are so proud of what George has accomplished and proud to call him one of our own!
