Desmond Norris, '20, was a long-time member of GCJGSF, and last year when he graduated he was dealing with a great loss, all while navigating life in a pandemic. He chose to attend Cuyahoga Community College to be near family and sort out his next steps, but he never let go of his dream to play collegiate golf. He continued to work on his game while in Cleveland, and reached out to coaches and anyone that could help him with his dream.
We are excited to share that Desmond's hard work and years of dedication to his golf game has earned him a partial golf scholarship and membership on the LeMoyne-Owen College men's varsity golf team in Memphis, Tennessee. He will get to test his skills on the college arena, and pursue a bachelors degree in biology. Desmond joins an elite group of GCJGSF members who have gone on to play collegiate golf.
