GCJGSF
CONGRATULATIONS DONOVAN MORRIS

COLLEGE: University of Mount Union
HIGH SCHOOL: Walsh Jesuit
Donovan has been a member of GCJGSF for 14 years, our longest member to date! He was one of the original members of the Nordonia Middle School team. Nordonia Middle School partnered with GCJGSF to help middle school kids prepare for high school golf. Donovan also represented us in many tournaments, such as the Midwest Golf Association National Junior Golf Championship, where he won multiple times! We asked Donovan how has Greater Cleveland Junior Golf Scholarship Fund benefited you? He responded:
" Out of all the things the Greater Cleveland Junior Golf Scholarship Fund has taught me, the thing I will remember the most is the power of goodwill. The adults who are volunteering and giving up their free time to be with the youth in hopes of leaving a lasting impression on the kids sends a very strong message. Even though the volunteers don’t make any financial profits, they still show up with a positive attitude every Saturday morning. A lot of people are willing to give in order to directly receive something later on, but not a lot are willing to give and not receive any gifts.

Donovan not only excelled in golf, but has been successful in many other sports, such as football and baseball. He is now our number one player, and the one that all our students seek to beat.
His future goal is "to be a research biologist, an athlete, and travel across the world." We will miss Donovan's competitive edge, but have no doubt that he will excel in this next phase of his life!
