Taylor Named President of GCJGSF

Updated: Jun 17, 2020

Jamie Taylor is the first Greater Cleveland Junior Golf Scholarship Fund alum to be elected as president of the executive team. She graduated from the program in 2002 and was a scholarship recipient. She went on to play on Gannon University's Varsity Women's Golf team, where she served as captain her junior and senior year and received her bachelors and MBA in 2007. While in college, she returned every summer to be a volunteer instructor for GCJGSF. Then continued to be a lead instructor from 2008 - 2015 and advisory board member from 2015 - 2019.

Fast forward, Jamie is a Class A LPGA professional and Programs Manager for the LPGA Foundation in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she currently resides.

" I chose to run for the presidency because I have picked up so many skills that I knew could really benefit the program. I hold GCJGSF very close to my heart because they are the reason that I am still a huge golf fanatic. My vision for the organization is to help infuse more technology into the program operations to create more efficiency and acquire sponsorship that will elevate this beloved 41-year-old program. I personally knew the founder, Mr. Willie Horton, Sr, while I was a junior growing up, and I want to continue the legacy that he started so it can go for another 40 plus years." - Jamie Taylor
