Zamora Receives 2021 Scholarship

Updated: Sep 10, 2021

COLLEGE: Cuyahoga Community College

HIGH SCHOOL: Warrensville Heights High School

Jessica has been a great addition to the GCJGSF family. She became a member at the age of 14, and accomplished becoming a member of her high school team! During her 4 years with us, she was an engaged LPGA*USGA Girls Golf member, and assisted with our inaugural Career Fair at Cuyahoga Community College. There she learned about the culinary program and chose to attend Tri-C for a higher education.

As a graduating senior, Jessica will be one of the first GCJGSF members to receive the Program Excellence Scholarship. This award goes to a member who demonstrates excellence in their game of golf. When asked about her golf journey, Jessica said,

" I became interested in golf at 8 years old. Jamie Taylor, (GCJGSF Executive Director), was my golf instructor for 2 years. I was introduced to GCJGSF at 14 year old. I enjoyed being a member of Greater Cleveland Junior Golf Scholarship Fund . They promote honor, friendship, respect and professionalism. I learn to improve my swing, stance and control. The organization taught me to challenge myself and to be patient. . . GCJCSF gave me confidence in golf as well as in my school work.

This fall, Jessica got a once in a lifetime experience attending a Junior Clinic sponsored by John Deere at the Solheim Cup held at the exclusive Inverness Club in Toledo, OH. There she got instruction from LPGA Professionals from all over the country, and met other girl golfers from various LPGA*USGA Girls Golf sites.

Her future plans include, "attending Cuyahoga Community College to obtain her certification in the Culinary Bakery Program. My plan is to work at a bakery." We are so excited for Jessica to embark on this next phase of her life!
